Black Bean Butter Brownies
Dense • Chocolatey • Blood-nourishing & Kidney tonifying
Ingredients
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed very well and drained
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup melted coconut oil or butter
- 1/2 cup + 2 TBS maple syrup
- 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup almond butter or tahini
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
Optional
- 1–2 tbsp cacao nibs or dark chocolate chips
- Pinch cinnamon (in batter)
Topping
- Butter cut into 16 small cubes (~1/8 inch each)
- Light sprinkle of sea salt
- Light dusting of cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8 pan with parchment.

Blend black beans until completely smooth.

Add eggs, melted oil/butter, maple syrup, tahini or almond butter, vanilla. Blend until creamy.

Add cocoa powder, baking soda, salt (and cinnamon if using). Blend again.

Fold in cacao nibs or chocolate chips if using.

Pour batter into pan and smooth evenly.

Place 16 small cubes of softened butter evenly on top.

Sprinkle with sea salt and dust with cinnamon.

Bake 30 minutes until edges set and center slightly soft.

Cool completely before cutting (important for texture).
