Tahini Date Nourish Cookies

A mineral-rich postpartum treat, these baked cookies blend ancient wisdom with modern comfort to help rebuild your vital essence and provide blood-nourishing sweetness.

TCM Intention: Root the Qi, Warm the Essence, and Tonify Jing with Sesame

Ingredients (Yields 13)
  • 1 cup rolled oats 
  • • ¾ cup tahini 
  • • ¼ cup softened butter (or coconut oil) 
  • • 8–10 Medjool dates, pitted 
  • • 4 tbsp maple syrup 
  • • 2 tbsp goji berries 
  • • 2 tbsp black sesame seeds 
  • • 2–3 tbsp potato starch (for binding) 
  • • ½ tsp baking soda 
  • • 1 tsp cinnamon 
  • • 1 tsp vanilla 
  • • Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
  1. Heat your oven to 325°F and prepare a pan with parchment. 
  2. In one bowl, whisk together the oats, potato starch, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, goji berries, and sesame seeds. 
  3. Separately, blend or mash the dates with tahini, butter, maple syrup, and vanilla until smooth. 
  4. Combine the wet and dry mixtures into a thick dough. 
  5. Roll into balls, place on the sheet, and gently press down to flatten. 
  6. Bake for 10 minutes until golden. Allow them to cool completely to let the fibers set. These soft, chewy treats are perfect for supporting your recovery journey and satisfying late-night hunger as you bond with your baby.
